Control of blood haemoglobin determinations by a simple effective method.

چکیده
Thawed, frozen ;mixed oxalated' blood for haematology or citrated blood from the blood bank may be used as a precision control, maintaining reliability and accuracy, for periods of one to two years from a single batch of control material. Blood haemoglobin determinations using the cyanmethaemoglobin method and the Coleman Jr. spectrophotometer can be done routinely with a day-to-day variability of +/-0.3 to 0.5 g./100 ml. (or +/-2 to 3%) as demonstrated in the range of 11 to 15 g./100 ml. A by-product of this precision is that it effectively checks the calibration of the 20 lambda (mul.) pipette for use in general chemistry if needed.

Evaluation of a modified salt-out method for DNA extraction from whole blood lymphocytes: A simple and economical method for gene polymorphism
Extraction of high-quality and-quantity DNA is a fundamental requirement for genetic research. It is very important to address the use of DNA extraction methods that are simple and cost-effective in gene polymorphism with large number of samples. This study was designed to investigate the optimal DNA extraction from lymphocytic cells by salt-out method. In this study, 200 blood samples of the t...

Introduction: In this study, we compared the level of glycosylated haemoglobin in patients with essential hypertension and healthy controls.Method: 70 non-diabetic patients with essential hypertension were recruited into the study along with 140 controls without any significant medical history. Persons with a history of metabolic disease, anaemia, renal disease, splenectomy, pregnancy, or on me...
متن کاملA simple and reliable method for estimating haemoglobin.
A new colour scale has been advised for estimating haemoglobin levels by matching the blood samples with ten levels of haemoglobin (3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, and 14 g/dl) on the scale. Preliminary results show good correlations with spectrophotometric readings. The new device is being field tested and if the initial promise is confirmed, will provide a simple and reliable method for estimati...
متن کاملPeykan check, a simple continuous quality control method for hematology analyzers
A simple inexpensive con!nuous quality control method, by means of eight basic blood coun!ng parameters, obtained from automated hematology analyzers, using pa!ent samples, is described. A few samples with low, normal and high values were selected and introduced to the instrument early in the morning as the first count, the results of which are plo#ed on the appropriate chart as dots. The sa...
